Kandice Benallie, Ph.D., is a licensed clinical psychologist and post-doctoral resident at UCEBT. She completed her doctoral training at Utah State University in Logan, Utah, working with children and adolescents in community health and hospital settings. Kandice completed her APA-accredited internship at Johns Hopkins All Children’s Hospital in St. Petersburg, Florida, where she completed major rotations in autism spectrum disorder/neurodevelopmental disabilities and pediatric psychology (inpatient consultation-liaison) with children and adolescents ages 2-19. Kandice’s clinical interests include early childhood diagnostic evaluations for autism and neurodevelopmental disorders, parent management training, parent support, and helping children reach their full potential.
Kandice is a primary member of UCEBT’s Assessment and Testing team. She conducts diagnostic and comprehensive psychological evaluations for individuals across the lifespan with a wide range of presenting concerns including Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), learning problems, mood and anxiety, behavioral problems, and psychosis and severe mental illness.
Kandice provides individual, family, and group interventions through evidenced-based modalities including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) while incorporating cultural, systemic, and developmental approaches. Kandice utilizes parent management training for families of children with challenging behaviors. She also has experience implementing Brief Behavior Intervention (BBI) and a group-based parent management training intervention – Helping Our Toddlers, Developing Our Children’s Skills (HOTDOCS). Kandice is currently assisting with the DBT team.
In her free time, Kandice enjoys being active including mountain biking, hiking, snowboarding, and yoga. She especially values spending time with her partner, toddler, and dog.
