Current Mask Policy at UCEBT

Dearest friends, clients, and colleagues,

As of June 7th, 2021, UCEBT has officially reopened its doors to in person clients. Our staff will continue to offer a hybrid of telehealth and in person services as best supports their practice. The opportunity to meet long term clients in person for the first time and see others again after over a year has been both a meaningful and evocative experience. We've missed you!

As we return to offering in person psychotherapy, we wish to prioritize evidence-based health practices with the intention of finding a middle path between physical health and safety and effective delivery of mental health services. With this in mind, we are pleased to announce the option for clients with proof of double vaccination to choose to remove their masks while in therapy rooms with their clinician.

Your clinician will inquire about your preferences and will respect your wishes with regards to delivery of therapy with or without a mask. We will continue the use of masks in our waiting room and common areas as an acknowledgment of the needs of our clients who may be at ongoing elevated risk of contracting COVID, as well as our child clients for whom vaccination is not possible at this time.

For our current clients, an updated in person disclosure form will be emailed shortly for your signature. Should you choose to maintain telehealth only sessions or should any questions or concerns arise regarding the disclosure, please feel free to defer signature until you have had any concerns addressed by your therapist or our desk staff. We value your feedback on ways in which we can improve your experience of in person or telehealth sessions.

This summer we will monitor the impact of this transition on our staff and clients and review the latest guidance from the Centers for Disease Control and the American Psychological Association. We look forward to eventually resuming in person groups, professional trainings, and outreach events and will keep you updated on our offerings as they arise.

Warm wishes for a mindful reentry to you and your loved ones.

With gratitude,
